Federal Trade Commission (FTC) a long time ago unanimously approved guidelines regarding endorsements, product reviews and testimonials. The updated guidelines affirm the principle that material/monetary connections behind endorsements and advertisements should be disclosed. In plain terms, readers need to know if the link-sharer is making money by sharing a link or product. This page is the best place on my website to offer my own disclosure information.
In compliance with the FTC guidelines, please assume the following about links and posts on this site:
NOT ALL but a few links on StiviWonders.com are affiliate links from which I receive a small compensation from sales of certain items. For the most part, I refuse to agree to promote a company until I’ve have had an opportunity to review its product or service and decide if it is something that my valued readers will find value in.
What are affiliate links?
When you click on a link to a product from our website and are able to purchase it on a site such as Jackson’s Art or SiteGround, your visit to those sites is logged as coming from StiviWonders.com. If, during your visit, you decide to purchase said item, I often earn a small portion of your sale in the form of a commission. Prices are exactly the same for you if your purchase is through an affiliate link or a non-affiliate link. It is the retailer that shares a portion of the sale with us. You will not pay more by clicking through the affiliate links shared on Stivi Wonders.
I use one type of affiliate program on Stivi Wonders and that’s the product affiliate link program. As a participant, the affiliate advertising program is designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to their digital properties, a website for example. Product companies offer a small commission on products sold through their affiliate links. Each of your purchases via product affiliation links shared on this website supports Stivi Wonders at no additional cost to you. If one of our posts is link to a product (with a special code for affiliates embedded in the link), and a reader places an item in his/her “shopping cart” through that link within 24 hours of clicking the link, Stivi Wonders gets a small percentage of the sale or some other type of compensation. Again, prices are not different if you use these affiliate links. You will not pay more by clicking through to the link. These links are not “pay per click.”
StiviWonders.com maintains an affiliate marketing relationship with the following companies:
- Jackson’s Art
- SiteGround
- ShareASale
- Tombow USA
What about sponsored content?
If an article on StiviWonders.com is sponsored by a company, I will disclose this information clearly in the beginning of the post. As I’ve mentioned above, I refuse to agree to promote a company until I have had an opportunity to review its product or service and decide if it is something I want to share with my valued readers.
As for my social media pages where I use affiliate links for product recommendations, I will include a link to this post, or put “(affiliate link)”, or #ad in the post. On Instagram and on YouTube, you will notice a ‘Sponsored Post’ feature if the post is indeed a paid campaign.
Thank you for taking the time to read this disclosure statement, and I hope that it helps to serve as a transparent way of showing just how your visits here help support Stivi Wonders and my pursuit of writing, photography, penmanship and calligraphy.
